About the Event

Renewable energy provides an effective means of decarbonisation of the global energy mix. The first edition of REIMAGINING2020; the flagship event to be organized by the Renewable Energy Society of India (RESI) before the REIMAGINING2021 Global Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies & Climate Change is  the main platform, how the transition to renewable energies will help to limit global warming.

As the main aim of this event is to point out, renewable energies are at the heart of every plan for countries to reach climate targets while promoting economic development, jobs and the creation of domestic value. Doubling the share of renewables by 2030 will produce roughly half of the required emission reductions and, in combination with energy efficiency, hold the increase in global average temperatures below 2 degrees Celsius, the generally accepted goal to avoid catastrophic climate change.

The share of renewables needs to increase not only in electricity generation but also in transportation, heating and cooling. Five concrete steps are required to support the transition to renewable energy: improve the political commitment to renewable energy; mobilize investment in renewable energy; create institutional, technological and human capacity; leverage the cross-cutting effect of renewables on sustainable development; enhance regional engagement and international cooperation.

The REIMAGINING2020 will be held via Virtual Platform on Dec 2020. REIMAGINING2020 seeks to provide a good forum for Energy and Environmental Protection academics and researchers to discuss the latest trends and successes, figure out good ideas and contribute.
